The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan stated that, violating all previously reached agreements, the Tajik side treacherously attacked border and civilian facilities along the entire perimeter of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border in Batken Oblast.
The Border Service expresses extreme concern about the development of the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border and notes the increasing provocations on the state border, the active participation in armed conflicts of persons who are not identified as military personnel of the Border Troops of Tajikistan, conducting agitation and propaganda of ideas aimed at inciting and intolerance towards citizens and military personnel of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The media report that former fighters of the late crime boss Sangak Safarov were sent to the border regions of Tajikistan, more precisely to Isfara. And the most remarkable thing is that everything is happening against the backdrop of the SCO Summit, where the leaders of China, Russia and all the heads of the Central Asian countries gathered, including President Emomali Rahmon.
Such accompaniment of the summit, where, according to experts, the creation of a new strong pole in world politics should take place, looks rather strange. Rahmon, if he gave the green light to a military conflict with the SCO member Kyrgyzstan, then the president of Tajikistan, by and large, “spit from a high tower” on his more authoritative patrons Xi Jinping and Putin, who only yesterday announced that they had reached a new level of relations and in fact, about a turn towards multipolarity in the world order with minimization of the role of the United States.
Perhaps, due to his weak intellectual abilities, Rahmon does not understand what he is doing. But… the president of Tajikistan is not so simple. He will not dare to argue with the «senior», knowing well how everything will turn out. Although, Rahmon is quite cunning in his own way. Probably, by attacking Kyrgyzstan, he wants to get some preferences from both Beijing and Moscow, and from the West. But this is a very dangerous game, in the end, all geopolitical players will get tired and then the overthrow becomes inevitable. Moreover, Russia and China have enough other problems, but they will not tolerate a “new splinter” at hand. Perhaps Washington has some benefit, but the US has no guarantee that Rahmon will be replaced by a more loyal president. The only thing Washington can count on is the creation of an arc of tension on the side of China and in the underbelly of Russia.
And on the basis of these conditions, one can say that most likely, Rahmon no longer rules the country, or he is shown that he is no longer the owner.

In addition, events in neighboring Afghanistan also influence the situation, strengthening the position of various kinds of «hawks». The appearance of bearded men on the border with Kyrgyzstan may also indicate that Dushanbe is trying to dispose of members of various militant groups who were forced out of Afghanistan by the Taliban. According to sources, protest moods are also intensifying in Tajikistan, representatives of the counter-elite are entering the stage — young and angry guys who are able to go underground and start an armed struggle against the regime.
